Hi guys and girls, I had to play this song for a father daughter dance at a wedding recently and couldn't
find
the correct chords out there so I made my own chart, thought I'd share it with all of you :)

*Note, this is clearly played with a guitar tuned down a half step and then played in the key of C,
to play it this way, tune your guitar down a half step and press the transpose up arrow one time.
*In her live version of this song, she actually plays it in C, press the transpose up arrow once and don't
tune your guitar down
*Another option would be to press the transpose down arrow 4 times and put a capo on the 4th fret and play it
in the key of G
*Good luck! if there are any mistakes (I don't think there are) please submit a correction and I will fix it!

[Intro]

B B/A# G#m7 B/A# 2x

[Verse 1]

         B B/A# G#m7 B/A#
Well you laughed and told me you really wanted a boy
        B B/A# G#m7 B7
But you cried first time you held me said you never felt such joy
       E E/F#
That's fathers and daughters

         B B/A# G#m7 B/A#
And when you took the training wheels right off my bike
        B B/A# G#m7 B7
That's the first time I could feel my wings 'Cause you taught me I could fly
       E E/F#
That's fathers and daughters

[Chorus 1]

             G#m E
When I was a pink ballerina dancing in the kitchen
    B F#/A#
You held out your hand so I could try my luck at spinning
    G#m E
The world keeps turning always through it all
  B F#/A#
I knew you would catch me when I start to fall
       E E#11 E/F# F#
That's fathers, daughters

[Verse 2]

B B/A# G#m7 B/A#

     B B/A# G#m7 B/A#
When you let me go out on my first date
        B B/A# G#m7 B7
You waited up and you didn't tell Mom even tho' I got home late
       E E/F#
That's fathers, daughters
     B B/A# G#m7 B/A#
And one day when that boy made my heart break
        B B/A# G#m7 B7
You told me that's why God made tears To wash the hurt away

       E E/F#

[Chorus 2]

             G#m E
Then I'm still that pink ballerina Dancing in the kitchen
    B F#/A#
You hold out your hand I go right back to the beginning
             G#m E
The world keeps turning always through it all
    B F#/A#
You're still there to catch me I'm still learning how to fall
       E E#11 E/F# F#
That fathers, daughters
    D#m7 G#m7
and daughters and fathers
    B/F# E
You grow up and discover
       B/D# C#m7
No one ever loves each other
     F#7sus4 E E#11 E/F# F#sus4 F# B
Like fathers and daughters
