Just my opinion: Right chords, but no barre as suggested by others. We play other Cash songs, and have watched many a performance. Cash played open chords mostly. And listening to this, I believe they are open. Makes more sense when you play it also. Good job on the words.

Play a G on the first string, for the chorus. Open C + G over the top. It comes on and off to form the fifth in the harmony. That's what I do at least. That's how you get that extra high note to accentuate, when he's done singing each line.
