Jimmy Eat World
   "Kill"

Notes:
This song was a bit hard to figure out, but it's just so beautiful and I really wanted to tab it!
I saw other tabs on the net that were completely wrong (in standard tuning)
I think it's easy to understand that the guitars are tuned down half-a-step.
The most difficult part to figure out was the intro/verse where I'm not really sure
what he plays, but I think that my version sound more or less right.
there are some chords that I play in different ways so I'll write it down
here and you'll decide what you prefer:

G#m (466444) I usually play this chord on the chorus like this (x44200).
I just think it sounds better
F# (244322) In the chorus I usually prefer play this (F5: 244xxx)
and you can even alternate the F#/A# with this (x14322) or (2143xx)

I had some problem figuring out the middle part riff, the 3rd chord is a bit hard
to do, but I didn't know how to do it, so if you find something easier just let
everyone know...

Intro

Verse 1:

E/G# E5 E/G#
Well you're just across the street
        E5 E/G# E5 B5 F#/A#
looks a mile to my feet, I want to go to you....
E/G# E5 E/G#
  Funny how I'm nervous still
     E5 E/G# E5 B5 F#/A#
I've always been the easy kill, I guess I always will....

Chorus:

         G#m E B F#

        G#m E B F#
Or only one way that it was always meant to be? (be)
                 G#m E B F# G#m
You kill me, you always know the perfect thing to say (hey hey, hey hey)
                 E B F#
I know what I should do but I just can't walk away

Repeat Intro

Verse 2:

E/G# E5 E/G# E5 E/G# E5
I can picture your face well from the bar in my hotel
                  B5 F#/A#
I wish I'd go to you
E/G# E5 E/G#
I'll pick up, put down the phone
          E5 E/G# E5 B5 F#/A#
like your favorite Heatmiser song goes, it's just like being alone

Chorus:

        G#m E B F#
Oh God, please don't tell me this has been in vain (vain)
       G#m E B F#
I need answers for what all the waiting I've done means (means)
                    G#m E B F# G#m
You kill me, you've got some nerve but can't face your mistakes (hey hey, hey hey)
                 E B F#

This song is a lot easier to paly if you tune to dropped Db, and put a capo on the second fret. (You could also just not tune down a half step, in which case you would just tune to a normal dropped D and capo the first fret). Just adjust the chords acordingly...it makes it a lot easier on your left hand (or right, if you're a lefty) to play it this way.

Great tab. Lol but Heath Mizer? It's Elliott Smith's band Heatmiser.
