Trying to Reason with Hurricane Season by Jimmy Buffett
Retabbed onebravocharlie
[Verse]
D
Squalls out on the gulf stream
G D
Big storms coming soon
G D
I passed out in my hammock
E7 A7
God, I slept way past noon
G D
Stood up and tried to focus
C G A
I hoped I wouldn't have to look far
G D
I knew I could use a Bloody Mary
A7 D
So I stumbled next door to the bar
[Chorus]
D Bm
And now I must confess
F#m
I could use some rest
G A7 D
I can't run at this pace very long
Bm
Yes, it's quite insane
F#m
I think it hurts my brain
G A7 D
But it cleans me out and then I can go on
[Verse]
D
There's something about this Sunday
G D
It's a most peculiar gray
G D
Strolling down the avenue
E7 A7
That's known as A1A
G D
Feeling tired, then I got inspired
C G A
And I knew that it wouldn't last long
G D A7
So all alone I walked back home, sat on my beach
D
And then I made up this song
[Chorus]
D Bm
And now I must confess
F#m
I could use some rest
G A7 D
I can't run at this pace very long
Bm
Yes, it's quite insane
F#m
I think it hurts my brain
G A7 D
But it cleans me out and then I can go on
[Verse]
D
Well, the wind is blowin' harder now
G D
Fifty knots or there abouts
G D
There's white caps on the ocean
E7 A7
And I'm watching for water spouts
G D
It's time to close the shutters
C G A
It's time to go inside
G D
In a week I'll be in gay Paris;
A7 D
That's a mighty long airplane ride
[Chorus]
D Bm
And now I must confess
F#m
I could use some rest
G A7 D
I can't run at this pace very long
Bm
Yes, it's quite insane
F#m
I think it hurts my brain
G A7 D
But it cleans me out and then I can go on
G A7 D
Yes, It cleans me out and then I can go on

I'm stressed out in a corporate job and the line, "i can't run at this pace very long" always seems to get me right in the feels!

Good job, man. The C-G-A part near the end of the verses uses B for the root on the G chord, so you walk it down. I forget exactly how to notate that, but I think it's B/G. Cheers!
