I think the chords are correct but the picking is nothing like that. I know it's not correct and it doesn't have the bass notes but I think this is closer. Let me know if you think I'm going in the right direction. *Crosses fingers and hopes the tab doesn't get mangled in posting*

You can easily find a video of Jeremy Messersmith himself teaching us fans how to play that song. While I find the correction to the picking pattern interesting, the original picking (from the tab) seems to be correct in form, but it has a tricky fingerpicking form (i.e. the rake Jeremy mentions in third note of each repetition). I guess that is how I play it - the "(2)" is the result of the rake (downward fingerpicking with the nail).
