Those chords are 9th chords. They look like:
--11-- THey are common chords used alot in funk. The tritone
--11-- (which is a dissonant interval) between the 5th and 4th
--11-- strings might be kinda hard to play cleanly, but it is
--10-- important because it gives the chord its funky sound.
