CORRECTION: If you start at open E and slide up to the B on the the 8th and 9th frets for the intro, breaks and chorus it sounds way better than using the E chord on the 9th fret like I have listed above.

Try this for the intro/chorus: The E is close, but he's actually dropping the root note off the chord and using the open low-E for the bass note: [tab] e|--0-- B|--0-- G|--9-- D|--9-- A|--x-- E|--0-- [/tab] Keep in mind that he's playing a 12-string acoustic. This means that, by playing the low-E open, the string that it's paired up with (which is tuned an octave higher) gives you that middle-E that you're losing by muting the A string instead of playing the 7th fret. If you're playing it on a 6-string, it might sound better as a whole chord, but you're sacrificing mobility for the next lick (which is fine, if you have the skill to stretch and make it still sound natural) Where you have a B chord written in the intro is actually a little lick that goes like this: [tab] e|--0-----0---- B|--0-----0---- G|--9h11--11p9- D|--9-----9---- A|--x-----x---- E|--x-----x---- [/tab] Yes, he does mute the root note of the chord. I'm not going to tab out the strumming rhythm, but I think you can get the idea. Where you have the A chord in the intro, it's actually played like this: [tab] e|--0-- B|--0-- G|--9-- D|--9-- A|--0-- E|--x-- [/tab] Basically an E/A. After that, play the little lick written above for the B chord (and yes, mute both the low-E and the A strings again!) And there you have it! By the way, your tab does sound really good--keep up the great work!
