I agree with the comments posted above. You have no right to change any of the lyrics, whether or not you think they're "repetitive". Who wrote this song again? Oh yeah. Guster. Let's keep it that way.

i mean, if you want to write a song, write a song...if you want to be true to one, do that...you can't do both

This is complete crap ... You don't get to change the lyrics to a song because yo think they're too repetitive. I just listened to the song while reading your lyrics, and trust me, they are a hundred times better in the real version. Leave the songwriting to someone more competent in the matter.
