[Verse 1]
C Fmaj7
Remember when our songs were just like prayers
C Cadd2 Am Fmaj7
Like gospel hymns that you called in the air
C Fmaj7
Come down, come down sweet reverence
C Cadd2 Am Fmaj7
unto my simple house and ring... and ring
[Chorus]
Fmaj7 C Fmaj7
Ring like silver, ring like gold
C Cadd2 Am Fmaj7
Ring out those ghosts on the Ohio
Fmaj7 C Fmaj7
Ring like clear day wedding bells
C Cadd2 Am Fmaj7 C
Were we the belly of the beast or the sword that fell... we'll never tell
[Bridge]
Em Fmaj7 C Fmaj7 C
Come to me clear and cold on some sea
Em Fmaj7 C G
Watch the world spinning waves... like machines
[Verse 2]
C Fmaj7
Now I've been crazy, couldn't you tell?
C Cadd2 Am Fmaj7
I threw stones at the stars, but the whole sky fell
C Fmaj7
Now I'm covered up in straw, belly up on the table
C Cadd2 Am Fmaj7
Well I drank and sang, and passed in the stable
[Bridge Instrumental]
Em Fmaj7 C Fmaj7 C
Em Fmaj7 C G
[Verse 3]
C Fmaj7
That tall grass grows high and brown
C Cadd2 Am Fmaj7
Well I dragged you straight in the muddy ground
C Fmaj7
and you sent me back to where I roam
C Cadd2 Am Fmaj7
Well I cursed and I cried, but now I know... now I know
[Verse 4]
C Fmaj7
And I ran back to that hollow again
C Cadd2 Am Fmaj7
the moon was just a sliver back then
C Fmaj7
And I ached for my heart like some tin man
C Cadd2 Am Fmaj7 C
When it came, oh it beat and it boiled and it rang... oh, it's ringing
[Chorus]
Fmaj7 C Fmaj7
Ring like crazy, ring like hell
C Cadd2 Am Fmaj7
Turn me back into that wild haired gale
Fmaj7 C Fmaj7
Ring like silver, ring like gold
C Cadd2 Am Fmaj7 C
Turn these diamonds straight back into coal
C Cadd2 Am Fmaj7 C
Turn these diamonds straight back into coal

nice work, just a few little things:
in verse 4 he starts on Am, adds the bass G when singing 'hollow' and goes down to F the usual way. same on 'some' in the third line of the verse. try it, it makes the verse much nicer and its a nice change to the rest of the verses.
personally, I like to think that he plays the all important Fmaj7 with the C in the bass and the C and Cadd9 with the G in the bass. i think that gives the song a much warmer sound and its more fun to play, too. especially the Fmaj7 is so thin when only played with those 4 strings and its harder to hit right without the bass C.
thanks for the tab and i hope i helped a bit.
greetings from germany,
Paul

the chords in version 2 are far more accurate than in this

I agree with Jorgory, but I would also throw a C/G chord at the end of that to get the low notes.
