My version I play, hope ya’ll like it! Fingerpicking, hybrid picking, strum it, or a mixture through the
verse
and chorus.

NOTE:
I put Cadd9/C to represent a hammer on from Cadd9 to C. x1003x to x1023x, hammer on the 2.
I’ve done the same thing with E7/E, you’re going from E7 to E via hammer on.

[Intro]
Cadd9/C G Am7 G4 (x4)

[Verse]
C G
Travellin’ through the graveyard
       Am G4
With a suitcase full of sparks
       F G C G4
Honey, I'm just trying to find my way to you
C G
Lit up every campfire
Am G4
Found out in the dark
      F G C
Oh, I cut down all the cottonwoods

[Intro]
Cadd9/C G Am7 G4 (x2)

[Verse]
C G
Picked up all the arrowheads
    Am G4
Off buffalo trails of the Indians
    F G C G4
The Oklahoma sky was cutting through
C G
Along the tracks with the runaway
    Am G4
He just talks and talks and talks
       F G C
Honey, I'm just trying to find my way to you

[Chorus]
Cadd9/C E7 Am F
And I quit counting stars at night
    Cadd9 F E7/E E7
In the cold, by the satellite field
    Am G C F
And I quit panning gold, digging holes
     C G C
Yeah, I'm just trying to find my way to you

[Intro]
Cadd9/C G Am7 G4 (x4)

[Verse]
C G
Swam across the Poncha
      Am G4
Took a train to Cataloo
  C G
I opened up my guitar case
   Am G4
And all the songs were blue
  C G
I haunted all the alleys
       Am G4
Lord I drifted down the valleys
       F G C
Honey, I'm just trying to find my way to you

[Chorus]
Cadd9/C E7 Am F
And I quit casting hooks, Off
    Cadd9 F E7/E E7
the California coast we held so dear
    Am G C F
And I quit flashing smiles, and running wild
      C G C
Yeah, I'm just trying to find my way to you

[Intro]
Cadd9/C G Am7 G4 (x4)

[Verse]
         C G
Threw my bottle to the ocean
   Am G4
She never wrote me back
       F G C G4
All the countless days along the sea of blue
            C G
Learned the language of the mocking bird
 Am G4
She took and twisted all my words
       F G C
Yeah, I'm just trying to find my way to you

[Ending]
         E7 F
And I'll meet you in the graveyard
        F G G7
With the winter trees and stars
           F G C
And we can open up this suitcase full of sparks

Well Adrian, personally I prefer a random picking style (if it sounds good) for this song like Bob Dylan does a lot or what you hear in a lot of folk songs. I don't know how new you are to guitar, but the chord structures are in tabbed form. Just my two cents, but you really need to learn a few basic chords. Learning just tabs or just chords limits yourself. On fingerpicking (I'm no teacher but this may help) you can start learning with this tip I can give you on the fly: Top three strings use your thumb. Rest your other three fingers on the bottom three strings. You may or may not use your pinky as a 'stabilizer' of sorts and rest it on the pick guard. So to summarize: Thumb for top EAD and have your pointer finger on G, middle on B, and ring finger on e. PM me if you have any other questions, I'll help as best I can.

This is a walkdown song so after the C either play a G/B or I like to do a Csus2/B see shape below. The Csus2/B could also be called a Gadd11/B as well. C Csus2/B e|--x--x-----| b|--1--1-----| g|--0--0-----| d|--2--0-----| a|--3--2----| e|--x--x-----|

I'm not entirely sure how to read chords, and I'm not very good with strumming, so is there any possible way you could get this song as a tab so that I know how to read it and can finger pick it?
