Here's just a quick riff I was trying to learn by ear since I wasn't too content
with what was already posted here, it's good work, don't get me wrong, it just didn't
sound right to me, I don't know, maybe I was playing it wrong... anyway here's the
intro and the first solo in 'Me & Bobby Mcgee' by The Grateful Dead in their 1971 live
album 'Grateful Dead' (or Skull and Roses)

And that's about all I have for this song at the moment, I'm still working on little riffs
played in the background by Jerry, hoping to add more if I can, my god I love his style.
A tip for anyone looking to get his tone, I've found it helpful to use a Muff gain and cut
back on the tone a bit, still leaving a good amount of gain on, slight reverb, and maximise
the volume so you can almost hear your pick on the string(be sure to pick lightly and be
precise). Oh and also a Stratocaster set it to the bridge (treble) pickup, obviously, or
a Gibson SG at the same configuration. It's not exactly like his tone, but to me it sounds
close enough... oh and tube amps, if you have them, couldn't hurt.
