MANY TOO MANY by Genesis
=============
written by Tony Banks
from the "And Then There Were Three" album (1978)
chords by Piguinho (from Brazil)
( C#m B6 F#m7 G#m7 )
C#m B6 F#m7 G#m7
Many, too many have stood where I stand
C#m B6 F#m7 G#m7
Many more will stand here too
F# C#/F D#m7
I think what I find strange is the way you built me up
G/D G F#6
Then knocked me down again
C#m B6 F#m7 G#m7
The part was fun but now it's over
C#m B6 F#m7 G#m7
Why can't I just leave the stage?
F# C#/F D#m7
Maybe that's because you securely locked me up
G/D G D
Then threw away the key
Em7/D D Em7/D
Oh, mama, please would you find the key?
D Em7/D D Em7/D D F#m/C#
Oh, pretty mama, please won't you let me go free?
B F#m7 B F#m7 B
I thought I was lucky, I thought that I'd got it made
F#m7 G#
How could I be so blind?
C#m B6 F#m7 G#m7
You said goodbye on a corner
C#m B6 F#m7 G#m7
That I thought led to the straight
F# C#/F D#m7
You set me on a firmly laid and simple course
G/D G D
And then removed the road
Em7/D D Em7/D
Oh, mama, please help me find my way
D Em7/D D Em7/D D F#m/C#
Oh, pretty mama, please lead me through the next day
B F#m7 B F#m7 B
I thought I was lucky, oh, I thought that I'd got it made
F#m7 G#
How could I be so blind?
C#m B6 F#m7 G#m7 C#m B6 F#m7 G#m7 F# C#/F D#m7 G/D G F#6
Oh, oh

"Maybe that's because you..." A#m7 instead of C#/F sounds better to me.

Good tab!
There's one correction I'd suggest for the verses/outro, though. I think, the main part goes like this:
| C#m | G#m7 | F#m7 | G#m7 |
For the chorus, I'd choose a different voicing for the Em7/D, making it more like a G/D:[tab]
E-A-D-G-B-e
G/D x-x-0-4-3-3 [/tab]
Other than that: great job, thank you!

Excellent tab for this song. If Only I could sing it...
But other suggestions are terrific too. This is the best version. Thank you
