Every time you play the Em9, It should go, first; Em3 (I think) (x55030) then the Em9 like how you wrote it in the intro. If you listen carefully you can hear how the chord has the drop from the 3rd (G, 5th fret D string), to the 2nd, or 9th (F#, 4th fret D string).
