  The way I play it is just using both F# strings instead of just the low one.
  This song is pretty simple, but you need to play it with style and make it sound
good, maybe throwing in some extra fills.
  This tuning works well if you want to play this song along with their self-
titled album, or maybe some A Perfect Circle or ASHES dIVIDE songs.

The tuning is unecessary and weird, it's just played on an 8 string. F# is the 8th string standard tuning. You need to tune the 6 string the way you did because it lacks punch on flabby strings. It would make more sense if somes leads were played that required that tuning but no leads. But yeah, the tabs are good, just do it on a standard tuning 8 string guitar.
