If That Ain't Country (Part 2)
Capo 1

A D
Well I'm just an old man now, was with scars
                                          E
Most of them I got fightin' in them redneck bars
                                          A
And a bunch of new tattoos Squench put on me
                                       D
Why he covered up the ones I got years ago
                                 E
Back in prison when I was just Dave Coe
                                 A
And I wasn't famous then, and I wasn't free
                                           D
Well I grew up in a three room run down shack
                                         E
At the foot of a mountain by a railroad track
                                            A
Where decent folk don't go when the sun goes down
                                                 D
Now daddy work the coal mines and he worked on cars
                                          E
And momma'd go to church and daddy'd go to bars
                                                 A
An most folks just called it the hillbilly part of town

A D
We had a 55 Chevy when I was fifteen
                                   E
I painted it red but I was still green
                                 A
S**t I couldn't even afford to buy gas
          D E
I had a 410 rifle and a Bowie knife too
A D
Redman tobacco that I liked to chew
    E
And we'd count the car when the train when past
                                             A
And If That Ain't Country, I'll Kiss Your Ass

[Chorus]
               D E A
If That Ain't Country, it'll hair lip the pope
              D E A
If That Ain't Country, it's a damn good joke
                   D E
I've been on The Grand Ole Opry,
A D
I know Johnny Cash
                  E A
And If He Ain't Country, What'

A D
Now one of my sisters was a lady of the night
                              E
And then one day she saw the light
                                         A
Now she don't do those things that she used to do
                                     D
She never made the funeral when daddy died
                                         E
An I said I'd forgive her but I guess I lied
                                     A
There's just no way to hide the way I feel
                                         D
Now me and my brother took our sister Diane
                                          E
Down to the funeral home to see the old man
                                                 A
Jimmy was the oldest and Diane was the youngest one
                                    D
Now Ray was in the middle and there was me
                            E
And I'm the one at twenty-three
                                   A
Who grew up to be that Yankee's rebel son
                                          D
Now times are changin' I've heard folks say
                                          E
It's been ten years since my daddy past away
                                         A
But I can still picture him in his overalls
                                      D
Covered with grease from his head to his feet
                            E A
Cussin' the sweat and the Texas heat, and mesquiters

A D
Standin' by the house where he made his deals
                                           E
And around the porch was a bunch of old wheels
                                                     A
And a couple Harley Davidson parts daddy sold for gas
            D E
There was fifty holes in an old tin roof
A D
Me and my family we was livin' proof
E
A perfect example of poor white trash
                                             A
And If That Ain't Country, I'll Kiss Your Ass

[Chorus]
              D E A
If That Ain't Country, it'll hair lip the pope
              D E A
If That Ain't Country, it's a damn good joke
            D E
Been on The Grand Ole Opry,
    A D
And I know Johnny Cash
          E A
And If He Ain't Country, What?
                  E A
And If That Ain't Country, What?
                  E A
And If That Ain't Country, What?

Not sure where these lyrics came from but I’ve never heard this song with them. Starting with the first line, it’s supposed to be “the old man was covered with tattoos and scars, he got some in prison and others in bars. The rest he got workin on old junk cars, in the daytime”.

@willfelt https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-sbBD96_31M is closer to these lyrics. Anyway, this still has an assload of errors in it. E.g. "was with scars" makes no sense at all, he sings "covered with scars". and so on.
