The half-step down is right for the album version. If you watch the music video or play along with the CD it's OK. Bands will often shift half step up or down during live performances (not sure why) but im positive it's half-step down on the album. so if you play what Karmapolice911 posted a fret higher on the neck (assuming you're tuned half-step down) you'll have the riff for the album--Claudio doesn't actually play the first note, I think. I listened to the Conan performance a bunch of times and I'm certain he doesn't. The riff comes in half-way through the first verse: "Ooh, you safe and unexposed..." and is played in the back through all the second verse. It's very faint but you can see him play it on the video and the Conan performance (where you can actually hear it better--wear headphones and it'll be much more audible). However the bridge is missing a bit. the first time he plays the riff is right but every once in a while he'll play this: |------------------------| |------------------------| |-----------4(8x)--4(x8)-| |--7(16x)---4------4-----| |--7--------6------2-----| |--5---------------------| the first chord is the same as in yours but for some reason Claudio prefers to play it like that. It happens right before he says "oooh, I couldn't give you what you needed..." Near the end of the song it's played every second time. (Once the riff on the tab, then the riff I wrote above--rinse,dry,repeat--and substitute the first chord for the one above if you want.) Because the guitars are so distorted is hard to tell, but I saw him do it on both videos--and saw them live this past Friday =D

Watch them play this live on Conan, it looks nothing like your tab.
