Don't Come Back Knockin' - Buddy Holly
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Written by: Buddy Holly/Sue Parrish
Early version of the song, recorded in Wichita Falls, TX, December 7, 1955
Now on: "Down the Line - Rarities [CD 1]"
Tabbed by: maguri
Tuning: Standard
This is what I could figure out. The chords are of course not always plain
major chords, sometimes you have to add the 7 or 6. The solos are not
exactly what Holly plays but it's at least close. I can't really make up my
mind whether the guitar on the recording is finger-picked or not. In this
case some notes add themselves naturally to the main line I tabbed below.
Even though there are some imperfections here and there, I'm a little
dissatisfied with bar 10 of SOLO 1. I hear two notes played simultaneously
there but I can't figure out how to play them. Must be some special
Rockabilly voicing that I just don't know. Do you? Comments and corrections
are highly welcome!

The solo might be hybrid picked. It also seems unusual for him to be playing in F... maybe he capoed on 1 and played in E?

Solo 1: for the Bb(7), 7th fret on G string not 6. C(7), 8th fret on B string, not 9th - but other notes are too high there. There is a C note at the end of the F(7) in bar 8, so you'd pretty much have to play xx3241 to xx3211. Then I realised, capo 1, you can play E7 and use the open B string, so that must be what it is, it's much easier.
So then you have A7 x0x223 , E7 xx2130 to xx2100 and I think there are two notes picked together in places, like E and G#, D and G# there,
B7 x21202 , I hear the A note played at the start of the chord so it could be 3 notes picked together x212xx , then open B, 2nd fret G, 2nd fret e, open B, 2nd fret G. Then the two dissonant notes played together in bar 10 will be xxx30x , let them ring, play 3 on the high e, then xxx2x2 I think. End with E(7) with the open B at the end again.
