Chords:
C/G 332010
D/A 554030
G5 355000
D/F# 200232
Em 022000
Em/B 775000

During the verses, play the four bottom strings, then add in the top
two during the chorus. All other chords, play as in the pop up boxes.

Note that coming out of each instrumental, they'll play two bars of C/G,
but coming out of each verse, they only play one. Also, at the end of
Verse 3 (the "guard rail" part), there's a half-measure of D/A which leads
into the rest of that extended section of Verse 3. Definitely listen to the
song, just count "1 & 2 &" for that first D/A, then the rest should come
naturally.

G C/G
She was a shark smile in a yellow van
D/A G5 D/F#
She came around and I stole a glance
      Em Em/B
In my youth, a vampire
             D/A C/G
Evelyn shown quiet as roses sting
         G C/G
It came over me at a bad time
    D/A G5 D/F#
But who wouldn't ride on a moonlight line?
Em Em/B D/A C/G
I had her in my eye, 85 down the road of a dead-end gleam

[Chorus]
             G
And she said woo
D/F# Am C/G
Baby, take me

Riding through Winona down the dotted line

90 miles down the road of a dead end dream

She looked over with a part smile
D/A G5 D/F#
Caught up in the twinkle, it could take awhile

And the money pile on the dashboard fluttering

I leaned over to take it in

As we went howling through the edge of south Des Moines
        G C/G
It came over me at a bad time
D/A G5 D/F#
She burned over the double line
Em C/G C/G |D/A | C/G
And she impaled as I reached my hand for the guardrail
  | C/G D/A | C/G
Ooh the guardrail
  | C/G D/A | C/G C/G
Ooh the guardrail

[Chorus]
            G
As she said woo
D/F# Am C/G
Baby, take me
           G
And I said woo

During the verse, it appears (from live videos) that she plays a chord between the EM and the D/F#. It's up on the 7th fret. Any ideas?

notjamesbrandt could she be playing an open Em shape - so fretting the 4th and 5th strings at the 9th fret? I think that's an Esus (or F#sus, because of the capo). Just before that, on the run down G - D - Em, she plays an ordinary open D, rather than a D/F#. In the other two places on the verse where she's shown as playing an D/F#, it looks like she's playing an open C/G shape, but shifting it up two frets, without a bar, so the 1st and 3rd strings are open.

I think it sounds closer to the studio version if you lift play the open 5th string right after you play C/G in the intro! So it would be: C/G, C/G, C/G with the open 5th string, C/G held longer than the previous three chords, repeat
