[INTRO]
A D A F#m D A
[VERSE ONE]
Asus2 F#m D A
Falling for you was always falling up
F#m D A Asus2
Leather books and surplus government chairs
Dsus4 D A
I rose like smoke or the steam from your cup
F#m D Dsus2
Away the feed where the lighter flares
[CHORUS]
A D Dsus2
You might have had some other reason
A Em
To burn me like a tissue screen
D Dsus2 A D A Asus2 A Em
But my heart is a poor judge
D Dsus2 A D A D A
It harbors an old grudge
[VERSE TWO]
Asus2 F#m D A
Falling for you was a walk off a cliff
F#m D A Asus2
A dream of a car with the break lines cut
Dsus4 D A
The only way you can stop it is if
F#m D Dsus2 D
You turn around and keep the windows shut
[CHORUS]
A D Dsus2
You might have had some other reason
A Em
To leave me in that dark ravine
D Dsus2 A Asus4 Em
But my heart is a poor judge
D Dsus2 A D
It harbors an old grudge
[BRIDGE]
G D A D
And I can see a light on
Em D G
Calling me back to make the same mistake
D A
Again
Em D
And I'll say no when you ask me
Am7 G Dsus2
No when you ask me, no when you ask again
Em D Am7
'Cause I won't let it pass me, won't let it pass me
G D Dsus2 A D A F#m D A
Won't let it past to see that I'm last again
[VERSE THREE]
Asus2 F#m D A
Falling for you was a last ditch plan
F#m D A
You sized me up with your thumb on the scale
Dsus4 D A
I came up short but you do what you can
F#m D Dsus2
The hammer's nothing without the nail
[CHORUS]
A D Dsus2
You might have had some other reason
A Em
To leave me to the guillotine
D Dsus2 A Asus4 A Asus4 Em
But your heart is a poor judge
D Dsus2 A D
It harbors an old grudge
[OUTRO]
G D A D
I can see a light on
Em D G
Calling me back to make the same mistake

Thanks for your feedback. I tried your suggestion and mostly agree. Instead of C, I think it may be Am7 because I still think that the lowest note is an A. I guess on a piano you can still do that with a C chord easily. I think the best way to play this on guitar is to finger it x02013, then pick the A string alone before strumming. Hopefully this made it a bit closer.

Nice work -- just some correx for the bridge. I think it's:
Em D
And I'll say no when you ask me
C G Dsus2
No when you ask me, no when you ask again
Em D C
'Cause I won't let it pass me, won't let it pass me again
G D Dsus2 A D A F#m D A
Won't let it past to see that I'm last again

Excellent work - and a great song! I agree with you that it's Am7 on "No", as the word itself is sung as an A note. C doesn't sound too wrong though, and it was my first pick at the start.
